Exhibition: Calder at the Rijksmuseum

Alexander Calder (1898–1976) was one of the major originators of modern sculpture. His colorful abstract shapes—moving in the air or firmly anchored in the ground—have proliferated throughout the world, in museums, in gardens, and in public places. This Terra Foundation-supported exhibition will feature approximately 20 sculptures by the artist, occupying the newly designed gardens of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and creating a fascinating landscape of large abstract forms.
