Lecture: “Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright”

Pamela Robertson, Professor of Mackintosh Studies and Senior Curator at the Hunterian Art Gallery at the University of Glasgow, will seek common ground between Wright and Mackintosh through an evaluation of their architectural and interior designs, their cultural and ideological origins, and the early critical reputation of both men.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright is part of the lecture series Origins and Influences, which takes Wright and the Robie House as its central focus and explores the international exchange of ideas that shaped the work of progressive designers in Britain, Europe, and America at the turn of the twentieth century.
