Discussion: Conversations at the Newberry

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Home Front: Daily Life in the Civil War North, this installment of  “Conversations at the Newberry” commemorates the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Historians Michael Burlingame and Doug Wilson will discuss the language and rhetoric of President Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, and Peter Garino, of the Shakespeare Project of Chicago, will read the Gettysburg Address.
