Lecture: “An Architectural Love Affair: Dutch Modernists and The Work of Frank Lloyd Wright”

Wim de Wit, Head of Architecture and Design at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, will consider the influence of Dutch design theories on Wright and his early contemporaries and Wright’s own influence on the various Dutch schools of Modernism: De Stijl, the Amsterdam school, and the Hague school.

Frank Lloyd Wright, De Stijl, and Dutch Modernism is part of the lecture series Origins and Influences, which takes Wright and the Robie House as its central focus and explores the international exchange of ideas that shaped the work of progressive designers in Britain, Europe, and America at the turn of the twentieth century.
