Study Day: “Ressourcer l’archive. L’exemple de l’art américain (1945–1980)”

This study day seeks to draw attention to the creative potential of archival research, focusing on the art of the United States during the postwar period. Custodial institutions in France will present their archival holdings on American art. Scholars, researchers, and artists will discuss the many ways they have used and interpreted such archival sources in their work. The program will take place in the Palais des Études, salle des conférences, and will close with a guided tour of the American holdings of the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris.

Organized by Rachel Stella in partnership with the Terra Foundation for American Art and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris.
