To support a one-day public symposium on April 27, 2013, that explored the role of humor in American art of the 1960s through 1980s. The symposium examined the use of satire, irony, and visual/verbal puns by Chicago Imagists and their approaches to humor in relation to those of other artists in the 1960s and 70s, such as Claes Oldenburg, H. C. Westermann, and Peter Saul. The program was offered in partnership with the DePaul Art Museum (Chicago, IL), which hosted the event.
