To support planning for a multi-year initiative designed to help Chicago institutions with American art holdings address the curricular needs of K-12 teachers, students, and schools. The initiative will focus on innovative ways to use American art to address new learning standards-the Common Core State Standards in literacy, which have been adopted by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and districts nationwide and call for new approaches to teaching.
