Francesca Rose Biography

Director, Paris

Francesca Rose is the Director of the Terra Foundation for American Art Paris office. Along with her colleagues, she leads efforts to identify funding opportunities and build partnerships in the arts and culture sector with a focus on projects that expand narratives of American art developed outside the United States. In this role, she cultivates relationships to foster intercultural dialogues locally and globally and encourages programs rethinking the field’s practices.

Francesca joined the foundation as Program Director, where she developed and oversaw publications grants and initiatives to advance knowledge-sharing and critical thinking in American art. In addition to her programmatic work, she managed the foundation’s imprint, drawing on her experience as an arts editor in France and the United States.

Previously, Francesca served as head of publications at the Musée d’Art Américain Giverny and editor at Éditions Adam Biro in Paris. She holds an MA and a postgraduate professional degree in Art History from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a BA in Art History from the University of Michigan.
