Exhibition: Joseph Cornell: Wanderlust

Internationally co-organized by the Royal Academy of Arts and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, this exhibition explores the imagined wanderings that drove Joseph Cornell (1903–1972), who hardly ever left New York, to create works in which the notions of travel and exploration are central. This exhibition presents a concentrated survey of around 35 box constructions and 10 smaller assemblages, 15 collages, and several films drawn from all periods of Cornell’s career.

The exhibition is also on view at the Royal Academy of Arts (July 4–September 27, 2015).
