Exhibition: The Shadow of the Avant-Garde

This exhibition examines the radicalism and originality of twentieth-century self-taught artists and reconsiders their relationship to the canonized art of the time, advancing the argument that their work should be understood as a permanent companion of the avant-garde movements of the last century. The exhibition demonstrates this connection through a concise selection of significant artists and their works, both on the side of the avant-garde and the self-taught.
