This panel discussion will explore points of connection between the histories of the Renaissance Society (founded 1915), the Hyde Park Art Center (founded 1939), the South Side Community Art Center (founded 1940) and the Smart Museum of Art (founded 1974) to consider the defining elements of visual culture on the South Side of Chicago.
