As part of ArtCOP 21, a global cultural initiative organized in conjunction with the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris from November 30 to December 11, 2015, this roundtable will highlight the history of American artists’ relationships to landscape, ecology, and activism.
Moderated by François Brunet, professor of American culture at Université Paris 7-Diderot and editor of L’Amérique des images: Histoire et culture visuelles des États-Unis, this event will feature:
- Bénédicte Ramade, art historian specialized in American landscape;
- Alan Braddock, associate professor of art history and American studies at the College of William & Mary (Williamsburg, VA); and
- Céline Flécheux, maître de conférences in aesthetics, Université Paris 7-Diderot.
