Part of the Terra Foundation for American Art Series: New Perspectives, Sordid Scandal is a new video essay and performance by acclaimed artist Amalia Ulman. This unique online video and performance was inspired by Andy Warhol. In the form of a PowerPoint presentation, the work combines personal and family confession with ideas from science and history.
Audiences should expect a darkly comic exploration of identity and artistic persona. How much does fiction shape the real?
The video essay and performance will be exclusively hosted on Tate’s website from September 3–7, 2020, accompanied by a written introduction by Tate’s Public Programmes team. A live discussion with Amalia Ulman and guests takes place on 7 September 2020.
