To support What Remains Visible?: Navigating Loss & Grief Within Photographic Archives of Incarceration and Colonial Violence, a two-day workshop and symposium in tandem with the end of Filipino American History Month. The event focuses on critical discussions around decolonial healing and trauma-informed practices concerning photographic archives of incarceration and colonial violence, particularly within the context of the Archive of Constraint, a private collection documenting colonial violence in the Philippines after the Spanish-American War, and aims to establish protocols and best practices for archival access and public dissemination of these materials. Following the workshop and symposium, audio/visual materials will be edited for publication on the Archive of Constraint’s website on a dedicated page. A volume of proceedings will also be published.Â
