To support Allan Rohan Crite: Neighborhood Liturgy (working title), a collection-based exhibition foregrounding Crite’s works on paper alongside a selection of his oil paintings that thinks critically about the media he employed amid his travels throughout Boston and his rootedness in the city’s South End and Roxbury communities. Throughout his century-spanning career, Crite incorporated spiritual themes into his representations of everyday life in the city, blurring the boundaries between the secular and the sacred.
