To support the development of a Web-based resource presenting a diverse selection of key visual materials (paintings, public monuments, and illustrations, for example) from Chicago collections and professional development through which teachers would be introduced to the resource and develop classroom projects with its content.The project will be designed to correspond with the new Chicago Public Schools (CPS) framework for social science instruction and with national standards for history/social studies, language arts, and art. It will be developed in collaboration with six contributing organizations: the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago History Museum, Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Library, CPS, and Newberry Library.
