To support research travel, research assistance, and three convenings in preparation for the 2018 exhibition South Side Stories: Rethinking Chicago Art, 1960 to 1975, co-organized by the Smart Museum and the DuSable Museum of African American History. Organizers examine the social, political, and historical contexts for the creative activity on Chicago’s South Side and the impact that this diverse community has had on cultural production in greater Chicago and nationally.
