To support the German-language catalogue and the 2008–2009 international presentation of This Side
of Paradise: Body and Landscape in Los Angeles Photographs at the Martin-Gropius-Bau (Berlin,
Germany) and the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg, Russia). The exhibition examines the
relationship between Los Angeles and the art of photography from the mid-nineteenth century to
the present.
