To support Robert Mapplethorpe: The Perfect Medium, held concurrently at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the J. Paul Getty Museum, as well as at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Gallery of New South Wales (Sydney), and the Kunsthal Rotterdam. The exhibition explores the life, work, and legacy of Mapplethorpe, presenting the artist’s best-known photographs alongside work that has never been exhibited. The catalogue is co-published by the Getty and LACMA, and is printed in English- and French-language editions.
