To support the exhibition Brilliant Exiles: American Women in Paris, 1900–1939 at the National Portrait Gallery. The project features the portraits of sixty convention-defying women who found, in Paris, the freedom to realize personal and professional aspirations that they could not achieve in the United States. The exhibition is accompanied by a scholarly catalogue.
