To support the 2018 exhibition Pictures from an Exposition: Visualizing the 1893 World’s Fair, marking the 125^th anniversary of the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The exhibition explores the fair’s critical significance in the city’s history through an in-depth analysis of its visual culture, paying special attention to the dynamic between fine art and popular imagery, and the economic imperatives that underpinned the creation of much of the material.
