To support Carrying On: Black Panther Party Artists Continue the Legacy, an exhibition that converges the artistic legacy and ongoing contributions of four former members of the Black Panther Party (Emory Douglas, Gayle Dickinson, Akinsanya Kambon, Malik Edwards), shedding light on the role of art in fostering a radical imagination and cultivating activist practices. By juxtaposing their early creations, crafted during the height of social movements from the late 1960s to early 1970s, with their later and current works, the exhibition reveals their perspectives on social progress and transformation. The catalogue will contain scholarly essays, along with personal statements and bios from each artist.
