To support research travel for the exhibition Sargent, Whistler and Venetian Glass: American Artists and the Magic of Murano, in order to research the reasons Venetian glass vessels, beads, and mosaics and their creators became subjects of American paintings, etchings, and drawings in the 19^th century.
