To support planning for the reinstallation of the Detroit Institute of Arts’s modern and contemporary art galleries in themes relevant to the area—including social and environmental justice, gender and sexuality, labor and industrialization, and technology and urbanism—while showcasing the work of vanguard Detroit artists from the mid-twentieth century to the present in combination with the museum’s expansive collection of American and global art to create new connections across cultures and eras.
