To support the 2011–12 exhibition Jackson Pollock: A Centennial Retrospective, the first retrospective of Jackson Pollock in Japan. To be held on the one-hundredth anniversary of his birth, the exhibition is organized by the Yomiuri Shimbun and presented at the Aichi Prefectural Museum (Nagoya, Japan) and the National Museum of Modern Art (Tokyo, Japan). The exhibition highlights Pollock’s paintings, drawings, and prints, and examines the influence of the artist on the Gutai group as well as his reception in Japanese magazines and newspapers.
