Institut national d’histoire de l’art
This roundtable considered the work of Ilene Segalove and Susan Mogul, two lesser-known artists working in California in the 1970s who renewed the relationship between contemporary art and the entertainment industry. Stand-up comedy, whether on radio or television, offered a model to these artists who, in the wake of their participation in the Feminist Art Program at the California Institute of the Arts, adapted the medium to the concerns of their time.
This event was held in French. It was organized and moderated by Morgan Labar, 2019–20 Terra Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institut national d’histoire de l’art.
