Terra Foundation Visiting Professorships at Freie Universität Berlin, 2009–2023

Terra Foundation Visiting Professorships at Freie Universität Berlin are integrated into the curriculum and research programs of the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies. The visiting professor devotes his/her time to classroom teaching, student advising, public lecturing, the organization of symposia, and personal research. The particular setting of the John F. Kennedy Institute offers rich opportunities to students to situate their study of American art in dialogue with disciplines such as cultural studies, cultural history, literature, and sociology. The courses are also open to students enrolled at the art history departments at the Freie Universität, as well as the Humboldt Universität Berlin.

  • The 2023–24 Terra Foundation Visiting Professor at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies, at Freie Universität Berlin, is Rizvana Bradley, Assistant Professor of Film and Media and Affiliated Faculty in the History of Art and the Center for Race and Gender at the University of California, Berkeley.  More details about her courses are available on the John F. Kennedy Institute website.
