Partner Engagement Associate, Art Design Chicago (Chicago)


The Terra Foundation for American Art is searching for a professional to work with its Chicago-based partners to facilitate their involvement in a communications and engagement campaign for Art Design Chicago (ADC), a citywide initiative highlighting the many voices and stories that are part of Chicago’s artistic identity and creative communities. The Partner Engagement Associate will play a key role in amplifying those stories by working closely with ADC partners to facilitate the development and implementation of co-created communications strategies and community-engagement activities. This is a temporary, 30-hour/week position through December 2024.

  • Have demonstrated familiarly with the visual arts and are skilled at applying strategies for engaging the public in visual arts activities
  • Are comfortable with an externally facing role—and working with others on highly collaborative projects with multiple partners
  • Have working knowledge of Chicago’s neighborhoods and visual-art community
  • Are enthusiastic about building and sustaining relationships with coworkers and external partners
  • Have demonstrated experience with a variety of social media platforms
  • Are skilled at organizing meetings and events (in-person and virtual)
  • Have strong time-management skills and the ability to complete all activities accurately and on schedule
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle details with care and precision
  • Are comfortable with quickly changing priorities
  • Are located in the Chicago area

What will the Partner Engagement Associate do?

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with staff of partner organizations
  • Plan and implement convenings of ADC partners focused on communications planning, engagement strategies, collaborative events, and professional development
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of co-created social media campaigns and other collaborative communications and engagement strategies
  • Participate in the development and implementation of community events in a variety of locations, including on-site coordination
  • Solicit and collect communications assets from partners (promotional copy, images, graphics, credits and captions, etc.)
  • Assemble, update, and distribute partner communications toolkit, signage, collateral, etc.
  • Assemble and update partner directory
  • Other duties as assigned, including participating in internal discussions and meetings

 What is the term, time commitment, and compensation?

Reporting to the Art Design Chicago Project Director, the position is approximately 4/5 time (30 hours per week), temporary (through December 2024), with a salary of $50,000, plus benefits (health care, dental and vision coverage, 403 (b) savings plan, sick paid time off, and more). The Terra Foundation is currently operating on a hybrid in-office/remote work model.
