Assistant Grants Manager

David Kanter (he/him) serves as the Assistant Grants Manager, playing a key role in advancing the foundation’s grantmaking strategy and impact. He supports the Terra Foundation for American Art’s public call grant programs, including the Collections, Convenings, and Exhibitions programs, while providing leadership in grants data and systems.

Prior to joining the Terra Foundation for American Art, he held roles at the Baltimore Community Foundation and Baltimore Center Stage. He has also served as a review panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, Arts Midwest, Delaware Division of the Arts, Maryland Humanities, Maryland State Arts Council, Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County (MD), ArtsFairfax (VA), Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts, and CollegeBound Foundation.

David holds a BA in Theatre Studies with minors in Mathematics and Legal Studies from Ithaca College. Outside of work, he enjoys attending theatre performances and spending time with his family.
