Miguel de Baca, Associate Professor of Art History at Lake Forest College, joined the History of Art Department at the University of Oxford during the 2017–18 academic year as the Terra Foundation Visiting Professor of American Art.
De Baca’s research interests include modern and contemporary American art history, with an emphasis on cultural history and American studies, memory studies, photography, and the history or imaging practices in new media. He is the author of Memory Work: Anne Truitt and Sculpture (University of California Press, 2015).
Within the context of the Terra Foundation visiting professorship, de Baca delivered the public lecture series “The Body of a Nation” in May 2018, at Worcester College, University of Oxford. Recordings of each of the four lectures are available at the links below:
