To support a professional-development and curriculum-development program for Chicago Public Schools teachers on the subject of the visual arts of the Black Arts Movement in Chicago. Housed at the Newberry Library, the program brings together local scholars and teachers in grades 6-12 for a week-long summer institute focused on increasing teacher understanding of civil rights and Black Power movements through artworks.
