To support a series of 6 free public lectures to take place in Chicago in the summers of 2013 and 2014. The series, “Frank Lloyd Wright: Origins & Influences,” interprets Wright’s approach and work within an international context of early-modern architecture and design history, with a focus on Wright’s Frederick C. Robie House. Wright’s work will be explored in relation to the British and international Arts and Crafts movements, the Vienna Secession and Jugendstil movements, Dutch schools of modernism, and Japanese art and design.
