To support Pictures of Belonging: Miki Hayakawa, Hisako Hibi, and Miné Okubo at the Japanese American National Museum, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The exhibition illustrates these artists’ active engagement and contributions to various developments in twentieth-century American art. All three artists persevered and remained steadfast in their lifelong commitment to exploring art as a productive means of storytelling and engaging with diverse communities. A robust catalogue contains 110 images, including many reproduced in print for the first time.
