To support two September 2007 programs: the symposium “The American West: Tracing the Genesis of
a Myth” at the Musée des Beaux-Art (Rouen, France) and the university seminar “Survey Photography
of the American West” at the Université Paris 7–Denis-Diderot (Paris, France). Both programs highlight
major exhibitions of the American West and its inhabitants, on view in fall 2007 at the Musée des
Beaux-Arts in Rouen and at the Musée d’Art Américain Giverny.
