To support a research, learning, and community project that centers counter-hegemonic narratives to American colonization and imperialism engaging local and international artists from Indigenous, Black, brown, queer, and trans backgrounds. Recognizing the importance of oral histories and embodied experiences to decolonizing and community-building efforts, the participating artists make sonic contributions to the program, which also includes performances, workshops, and interdisciplinary conversations with curators and scholars. Sessions are recorded and shared via SAVVYZAAR, SAVVY Contemporary’s radio station, which broadcasts locally in Berlin and Potsdam, Germany, and globally via SAVVYZZAR’s website.
