To support an inventory of historical American art in U.K. public collections, a project to record and promote important aspects of the history of Anglo-American artistic links over three centuries. It will be the first systematic account of historical American art held in British public collections since a small booklet was published in 1974 and will complement and build on existing online resources detailing American art worldwide being compiled by the Smithsonian American Art Museum and by the Musée du Louvre.
